In the era where IT certifications can accelerate a career, I felt the need to create ? CertJourney.tech, a platform that serves as an organized and up-to-date database of tech certifications integrating real reviews and an active community where you can discuss and grow.

? Project Objective

The objective was to simplify the journey for those who wish to grow in the tech sector, addressing these common issues:

  • Time wasted searching for certifications scattered across different websites.
  • Difficulty understanding which certifications have real career and skill value.
  • Lack of a community where you can compare experiences, share career advice, study tips, and reliable resources.

CertJourney helps those studying and working in tech to discover, compare, and monitor certifications systematically, promoting informed choices.

?️ Technologies and Stack Used

During development, I decided to integrate:

  • Lovable.dev as a low-code/AI-assisted framework to speed up prototyping and UI.
  • Firebase Authentication for login/signup via:
    • Email/Password
    • OAuth Google, GitHub, LinkedIn
  • Firestore Database to manage certification collections, reviews, and community posts securely, scalably, and with fine-grained permission rules.
  • Node.js + CSV Script for bulk imports of certifications, optimizing times and avoiding manual entries.
  • Custom domain management and transactional email handling (password reset, account confirmation) with the @certjourney.tech domain.

?‍? Skills Acquired

During the development of CertJourney.tech, I consolidated and expanded on these skills:
✅ Multi-provider OAuth authentication and secure user management on Firebase.
✅ Structured Firestore database, with fine-grained read/write security rules (authors, admins, public reads, profile management).
✅ AI integration in development workflows, leveraging Lovable and targeted prompt engineering for ordered CSV certification generation.
✅ Advanced domain and DNS management, including DKIM and SPF configurations for custom Firebase emails.
✅ UI/UX focused, designing simple, intuitive, and mobile-friendly interfaces to facilitate the search and exploration of certifications.
✅ Management of a complete user-generated content ecosystem (reviews, posts, comments) with moderation, versioning, and future AI moderation integrations.

With over 680 certifications already loaded (expanding towards 2500+), users can:
✅ Search certifications by level and category (Cloud, Coding, Cybersecurity, Networking, IT).
✅ Read and leave reviews on certifications.
✅ Interact in the community to share exam tips, study advice, and experiences.
✅ Save favorite certifications in their profile for career planning purposes.

  • Automatic AI moderation for reviews and posts.
  • Automated integration of official links and study materials.
  • Certification progress tracking and personalized reminders.

This project represents my vision of useful technology, created to address a concrete need, and at the same time has been a personal and professional growth journey, combining backend development, scalable database management, and user experience care.
