This automation leverages Make.com to orchestrate a workflow that generates images using ChatGPT (DALL-E) and publishes them automatically on Instagram. The project highlights the integration between OpenAI and Meta (Facebook/Instagram), enabling the creation and sharing of customizable visual content.

Automation Pipeline

STEP 1: Verification and Planning

  • A scheduled task is initiated on Make.com to monitor the outcome of image generation via ChatGPT.
  • The control ensures that the generated image meets the required criteria before publication.

STEP 2: Image Creation

  • DALL-E is called to generate an image based on a predefined prompt.
  • The AI model processes the request and returns an image ready for posting.

STEP 3: Publishing on Instagram

  • The generated image is published automatically on Instagram.
  • Parameters such as hashtags, caption, and post formatting can be customized.

Setup and Configuration

Initial Setup on Make.com

  1. Log in to Make.com and go to Templates.
  2. Search for “Create engaging Instagram posts with ChatGPT’s image generation and text completion”.
  3. Select the template and start configuring the pipeline.

STEP 1: Configuring OpenAI (ChatGPT, DALL-E)

  • API Activation:
    • Log in to OpenAI Platform.
    • Go to Billing and add payment details.
    • Each execution has an estimated cost of $0.04 per generated image.

STEP 2: Image Generation with DALL-E

  • Integrate the Generate an Image action using OpenAI’s API for DALL-E.
  • Define the prompt and image parameters.

STEP 3: Publishing on Instagram

Facebook Developer Configuration for Instagram Business

  1. Create a new app on Facebook Developer.
  2. Go to Settings > Basic and enter:
    • Privacy Policy: [Link to your Privacy Policy]
    • Terms of Service: [Link to the Terms of Service]
    • App Domains: make.com, facebook.com, eu2.make.com
  3. Retrieve App ID and Client Token for API authentication.

Integrating with Meta (Facebook/Instagram)

  1. Log in to Meta Business Suite.
  2. Connect your Instagram account:
    • Go to Accounts > Instagram Accounts.
    • Add your account and grant the necessary permissions.
  3. Create a Facebook Page (required for Instagram API).
    • Add a new page from Business Suite.

Connecting Make.com with Meta

  1. Return to Make.com and initiate the connection with Facebook/Instagram.
  2. Select the previously created page.
  3. Start the automation!
