Thanks to the integration with OpenAI APIs, Legaly is able to summarize the most relevant clauses in a few seconds, highlighting ambiguities, implicit obligations, legal traps or clauses potentially harmful to the user&#039;s rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The extension allows you to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analyze pages containing legal terms with one click.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive clear and readable summaries of the conditions of use and data processing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View a \u201crisk level\u201d associated with the document being analyzed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate through a minimal and intuitive interface, oriented towards privacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system was designed not to store any user data, maintaining a \u201cprivacy-first\u201d philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skills Involved and Technologies Used<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the development of Legaly, I consolidated and expanded both front-end and back-end skills, going through all the phases of design, prototyping and distribution of the extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Main technologies used:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Frontend:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>JavaScript and manifest V3 for building the Chrome extension.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimal UI designed with attention to user experience, including dashboard, about page and feedback system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multilingual localization (IT, EN, DE, ES).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Backend:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use of <strong>FirebaseFunctions<\/strong> for secure API call management and user rate limiting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration with <strong>OpenAI<\/strong> for the automatic processing and simplification of legal texts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continuous deployment and cloud configuration via Firebase CLI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tools and methodologies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Node.js workflow managed via terminal (nvm, npm, firebase-tools).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continuous versioning and testing via development environment (VSCode, WindSurf AI).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation of a scalability and resource optimization logic, including a request limiting system to avoid abuse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, <strong>Legaly is publicly available on the Chrome Web Store<\/strong> and fully functional. The extension has passed the testing and review stages, offering all the main features in a stable and polished interface:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Instant analysis of legal documents using artificial intelligence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Content summary with risk assessment (? High, ? Medium, ? Low).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highlighting problematic clauses through a system of patterns and keywords.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Active multilingual support (IT, EN, DE, ES).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimal, responsive and privacy-oriented user interface.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is in full swing <strong>rollout<\/strong>, with a solid technical foundation that already allows users to make informed decisions without having to navigate complex legal language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Upcoming developments<\/strong> Currently in the design and testing phase include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pro Version<\/strong>: with advanced features such as automatic email notifications in case of updates to the Terms and Conditions already analyzed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>User Account Management<\/strong>: to track the history of the analyses performed, customize preferences and access advanced settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proactive integration into websites<\/strong>: with overlay next to Terms &amp; Privacy links for smoother, more contextual scanning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>User feedback system<\/strong>: to collect bug reports or improve analysis patterns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Linguistic expansion: <\/strong>to include new languages and increase the global accessibility of the tool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Considerations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Legaly is a significant project for me not only in technical terms, but also for its potential impact on the daily digital life of users.
